WASHINGTON ? As Republicans fight for his job on the eve of the crucial New Hampshire primary, President Barack Obama is back on the fundraising trail, collecting checks for his campaign and other Democrats.
Obama was to appear at two fundraising events Monday evening in Washington ? a small high-dollar event for big donors at the swanky Jefferson Hotel and a large reception with cheaper tickets at the Capitol Hilton.
At the first event Obama was to join around 25 guests for a closed-press roundtable discussion with tickets $45,000 each and proceeds split between his campaign and the Swing State Victory Fund, which supports Democrats in battleground states.
Later Monday Obama was speaking to about 700 guests paying $100 or more to attend a reception featuring a performance by singer Sara Bareilles.
